The Gardens has three research staff members who are adjunct faculty and advise graduate students.

Our first graduate student, Carla DeMasters, started in January 2015 and her primary focus is on restoration at Chatfield Farms. We also advise graduate students as thesis committee members. The involvement of undergraduate and graduate students in active research invigorates our projects and provides valuable training to the next generation of scientists and conservation stewards. We also offer internships for academic credit and occasionally can offer stipends. Contact us at for current opportunities. Past research internships have focused on conservation genetics, long-term monitoring of rare plants, botanical surveys and collection management.
