History for Homeschoolers at Plains Conservation Center: Not So Plain - Women on Colorado's Plains

Life on Colorado’s plains was anything but easy—especially for the women who helped build homes, families, and communities in this challenging environment. In this immersive program, students explore the daily lives of women homesteaders and the vital roles they played in shaping life on the frontier.

Participants learn the stories of teachers, homesteaders, and community builders who helped transform the plains. Through hands-on activities in the sod village, students try their hand at chores and skills that women performed every day, gaining a deeper appreciation for the resilience and resourcefulness required to live on the prairie.

History for Homeschoolers is a series of classes geared towards students in grades 4th-9th.
