Birds and Blooms: Spring Exploration on the Prairie at Plains Conservation Center
Migrating songbirds will be heading northward through our shortgrass prairie and creek corridor each week at the Plains Conservation Center. This interactive workshop highlights the basics of field birding and native plant identification, both by foot and utilizing our on-site wagon. Explore the specialized ecological relationships that exist between our Colorado native plants and the birds that rely upon them, as well as recommendations for incorporating these botanical beauties into your home landscape.

Kate spent over a decade working for Denver Audubon, facilitating beginning birdwatching programs and field trips, as well as the Community Naturalist Training program. She currently works for Denver Botanic Gardens as an instructor at the Plains Conservation Center and is a certified Native Plant Master through Colorado State University.
