In this class, Assistant Manager of Horticulture, Jennifer Miller discusses the rise in popularity of dried flowers and shares her best tips for growing, harvesting and drying flowers and foliage for celebrations, events and decorations. Learn how to create a cutting garden and harvest and condition dried material. Jennifer provides a list of her favorite flowers and foliage and shares her preferred method of drying and storing dried plants. She also talks floral design, offering tips for combining dried florals for best effect and share her favorite ways of displaying them.

Jenny has been a horticulturist at the Gardens since 2014. Jenny manages five gardens, Shady Lane, the Fountain Beds, the Ornamental Grass Garden, the Welcome Garden and the Secret Garden, which she designed in 2018. Jenny refurbished the Ornamental Grass Garden in 2019-2020 and has been renovating Shady Lane since 2024. She also offers tips for combining and displaying dried flowers.
