Know Before You Go
- Program Length: Girl Scout Juniors Exploration Days consist of three activity stations and a self-guided exploration. Depending on the size and interests of your group, the program will take about two hours to complete. Program registration includes admission to the Gardens. Your group is welcome to stay and explore the Gardens on your own after the program.
- Before you Arrive: If your group is larger than seven girl scouts you will be required to break your group into smaller groups with no more than seven scouts in a group. We recommend determining these groups before you arrive. Each smaller group of girl scouts will need a designated adult Group Leader to lead the group through the activities. At check-in, Group Leaders will be provided with a map and activity schedule.
Additional adults and non-participating siblings who have registered as part of the program are welcome to join your group as you complete the activities or explore the Gardens on their own. Non-participating siblings do not participate in take home activities. - Activity Stations and Self-Guided Exploration: Staff and volunteers are present at each activity station to greet your group, provide you with the materials and instructions you need to complete the activity and assist with any questions you might have. Group Leaders are responsible for helping the Girl Scouts complete the activities and self-guided exploration.
Depending on the size and interests of your group, expect to spend 20-25 minutes at each activity station. In between activity stations, use this time for your group to have a snack, use the restroom and explore the Gardens.
