Orchid Day

Celebrate all things orchids with family-friendly education and hands-on activities throughout the Gardens.

Sunday, Feb. 11, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Activities take place in the Gardens’ Freyer – Newman Center, Mitchell Lobby Court, Boettcher Memorial Tropical Conservatory, Marnie’s Pavilion and Orangery. 

 

Included with admission:

  • Explore the splendor of the Orchid Showcase in the Orangery from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Hear a Science Chat about orchids, including Colorado-native orchids, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. in Marnie's Pavilion
  • Get creative with an orchid-gami activity from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Ming Bridge
  • Enjoy live music in the Freyer – Newman Center galleries highlighting The Tropical Paintings of Manabu Saito from 11 a.m. – noon and 1-2 p.m. in the Bonfils Stanton Gallery
  • Shop the orchid-themed used book sale presented by the Helen Fowler Library from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Freyer – Newman Center atrium
  • Learn about Colorado-native orchids from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. outside the herbaria 
  • Join a Japanese sumi-e ink painting art activity with the School of Botanical Art & Illustration from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in Mitchell Lobby Court
  • Free drop-in tours on the hour leaving from the Boettcher Lobby from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
