Watercolor and Ink Nature Journaling at Plains Conservation Center

Nature Journaling is a wonderful way to connect to the natural world. Watercolor and ink are an easy, portable, and enjoyable way to enrich every experience. Whether you share your art or keep it as a memory keepsake, create memories and always learn something new. Each month covers a different natural topic and introduces a few new watercolor techniques. Each student creates a piece of art and is inspired to try again. This class is a journey in discovering what art appeals to you and what type of artist you want to be.

August - Native Butterflies (Hike and Paint)

September - Birds in Flight (Hike and Paint)

October - Autumn Foliage (Inside Painting)

November - Cold Weather Birds (Inside Painting)

Instructor: Jody Walker

Jody retired from her Parks and Recreation career in 2010. Since then she has worked in the Environmental Education field, leading hikes and programs focusing on our natural environment. She has taken classes and received state and national certifications as an environmental educator and has worked for National Parks, Conservation Areas, Nature Preserves, Wildlife Refuges, National Forests, and now at the Botanic Gardens for the Plains Conservation Center. Nature Journaling and Art has been a consistent and wonderful enhancement to every program in natural spaces.
