Tropical Fruits and Flowers in Ink and Watercolor
In the tradition of the 18th century botanical plates, create a modern botanical composition of tropical fruits and flowers combining ink and watercolor. Inspired by a brief visual history of botanical artists and their botanical prints, learn how ink and watercolor complement each other to define structures, values and details. A trip to the Boettcher Memorial Tropical Conservatory provides the opportunity to observe, draw from life and a variety of tropical subjects to include in your composition.
