Sensory Garden

In partnership with the Colorado chapter of the SPARK! Alzheimer's Association, Denver Botanic Gardens offers a safe, interactive experience for participants with mild memory loss to explore the diverse world of plants. Participants will have the opportunity to learn something new while sharing in an enriching and engaging environment.

Sessions are the second Wednesday of the month, and we will meet at the entrance to the Sensory Garden.

Time: 10-11:30 a.m.

October 13, Fall Garden Tour - Explore the fall beauty of Denver Botanic Gardens. We will be your guide as we stroll through the changing leaves and autumn flowers.

November 10, Tree Tour - Every tree tells a story, and Denver Botanic Gardens is home to some of the largest and most unusual trees around. Well take a tour of the most interesting trees at the gardens, learn their stories and begin to see trees in a whole new way.

December 8, Tropical Plant Tour - Walk with us through the Boettcher Memorial Tropical Conservatory at Denver Botanic Gardens. We will explore a variety of interesting tropical plants and some that you might even recognize as common houseplants.

Angie Andrade, HTR is a senior horticulturalist at the Gardens and manager of the Therapeutic Horticulture Program. Angie is a registered horticultural therapist through the American Horticultural Therapy Association.
