Science Studio for Homeschoolers: Cyanotypes
Deep, rich blues and crisp, bright whites, learn to make cyanotypes! Cyanotypes are photographic prints made without the use of a camera. Discover how the earliest photographs of plants were produced using an innovative chemical process and the power of the sun. Connect with this antique technique and create your own stunning cyanotype prints.
Science Studio offers families a guided classroom experience to investigate the connections between scientific concepts, the arts and the natural world. Each studio session utilizes a variety of natural materials and art mediums to explore scientific concepts related to the natural world. After exploring the session's scientific content, students will have the opportunity to get creative with the provided art materials.
Program Location: This program takes place indoors and runs between 60 - 90 minutes depending on how long your group spends creating your art work.
Audience: Families with Children ages 7 - 12
Program Fee: $14 non-member; $12 per child; One adult per child is free of charge. Additional adults and non-participating siblings ages 3 and up are $7 each. Non-participating siblings do not participate in the take home activities.
Cancellations: Cancellations more than one week prior to a class are subject to a 15% cancellation fee. Cancellations with less than one week's notice are non-refundable.
