History for Homeschoolers at Plains Conservation Center: Day in the life of Indigenous Youth

What was childhood like for Indigenous children who lived on the plains long before Colorado became a state? In this engaging program, students learn about the roles, responsibilities and traditions of Indigenous families and communities.

Through games and activities traditionally played by Plains tribes—such as hoops and spears, archery and other interactive challenges—participants experience aspects of daily life and cultural traditions. Students also explore the importance of family, storytelling and creativity in Indigenous culture while gaining a deeper understanding of life on the plains before settlement..

History for Homeschoolers is a series of classes geared towards students in grades 4th-9th.
