Basic Felting

June 7, 2 - 4 p.m. Turning wool into felt involves nothing more than hot water and some time. Make a simple bowl while exploring the process of felting.

Introduction to Embroidery

August 30, 12 - 2 p.m. In this hands-on class, students learn a variety of basic stitches that can be used to create intricate designs. After getting comfortable with stitches in a small sample piece, choose to use a prepared design or design your own pattern to start an embroidery piece to take home. If you have some knowledge of stitching, this class allows you to expand your horizons, but it is also open to complete beginners.

Rags to Rugs

September 25, 5 - 7 p.m. Braided rag rugs are a traditional American way to use fabric scraps to make something useful. Learn this historical method of up cycling that still can be used today. Exercise your creativity to make your own braided mug rug to take home at the end of the workshop. Basic familiarity with sewing and braiding is helpful but not required. All supplies and materials are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own fabric scraps.
