Building Balanced Teas: The Basics of Herbal Blending

Tea blending is both an art and a science. Learn how to formulate herbal teas for specific goals, from supporting digestion and sleep to calming the nerves or boosting energy. Explore the structure of a well-balanced tea, understanding how to combine base herbs, support herbs and accent herbs for both flavor and function.

Learn how herbal actions –such as relaxing, stimulating, drying or moistening – work together in a blend and how these qualities affect the body. Touch on the basic concepts of energetics and constitutions, showing how simple energetic awareness (warm vs. cool, dry vs. moist) can fine-tune your tea formulas to match individual needs.

Practical formulation skills are emphasized and plenty of hands-on work is included. Design and create several small tea blends, and gain confidence in herbal ratios, flavor balancing and therapeutic synergy.
