Blue Travel - Healing and Health in Montezuma, Costa Rica

Located at the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica is the small, charming town of Montezuma—a blue zone that boasts lush jungles and pristine beaches. Blue zones are regions where common living practices contribute to a healthy, long-living, vitality-filled population. Join us for a deep dive into Montezuma, one of the world's most beautiful and healing blue zones.
Be immersed in the local landscape, hike through the jungle, tour waterfalls and local farms, participate in classes focused on healing plants, practice daily yoga and build community over locally sourced farm-to-table meals.
All yoga, workshops, accommodations and meals are included in the price per person. Airfare purchased separately.
Accommodation provided by Anamaya, a boutique retreat center nestled in the jungle with breathtaking ocean views. This semi-private retreat location offers exceptional service, has a stunning pool and provides fresh meals with a focus on fruits, vegetables, proteins and whole grains. All meals are free of white sugar and gluten.

Note: Private rooms are limited. To share a room with a specific person, purchase two double occupancy tickets and provide additional information when prompted. The women only bunkhouse will fit 6 people, if you choose this option, you will be assigned roommates, the bunkhouse is large and gives each person dedicated space. Photos are available upon request. Do not purchase double occupancy rooms with a single person, if you do so you risk being assigned a roommate or your reservation will be cancelled. Trip Leader: Blake Burger



Blake started as a seasonal gardener at Denver Botanic Gardens and then was hired full-time as a horticulturist. Throughout his time at the Gardens, he has worked with tropical plants, native plants, vegetables and herbs. After receiving his Herbalist Certification, Blake began working with the vast array of medicinal plants growing in the Gardens. He founded the Denver Medicinal Plant Society in 2015, created and maintains several medicinal plant beds at the Gardens' York Street location, and has laid the foundation for the Gardens’ Herbalist Certificate Program. As a certified yoga instructor, Blake has led more than 1,000 yoga classes over six years and created a nationally recognized yoga program at the Gardens. Blake believes in a multifaceted approach to health and wellness: eat well, move your body, never stop learning, get outside and connect.



Blue Travel Refund Policy:Cancellations made within 75 - 120 days prior to departure will incur a $500 cancellation fee.
Cancellations made within 31 - 74 days prior to departure will result in a 50% forfeit of the total amount paid.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made 30 days or fewer before departure.
