Agriculture Past, Present & Future
Chatfield Farms has deep roots. Climb aboard for a tractor ride provided by our partners at Front Range Antique Power Association. Ride through our working historical ranch and discover the land and the crops that have shaped it. On this 90-minute tour, take in sweeping views of the property, passing by lavender fields and cultivated gardens. Your guide will share the story of this land and how it has been shaped by generations of agricultural practice.
The tour includes a stop at the Chatfield Farms Solar Garden, where an emerging approach called agrovoltaics. — growing crops beneath solar panels — is being put to the test as one vision for the future of farming in Colorado.
