Homeschool Science Supplement at Plains Conservation Center: Plant Pigments
In this class, students will use different scientific techniques to extract plant pigments from a variety of leaves. We will then use the process of chromatography to explore what pigments are found and talk about the role that the different pigments play in photosynthesis. This will provide the necessary knowledge to understand how leaves change color in the fall.
