Ayurveda through the Seasons

Join us for this three-part cooking and herbalism series designed to help you align your kitchen with the rhythms of nature. Rooted in Ayurvedic principles and seasonal eating, each class explores how food, herbs and simple daily practices can support balance and well-being as the seasons shift.

Across spring, summer and fall, explore how the elements and doshas (Ayurveda’s foundational energies) show up in our environment and bodies and how our cooking can bring us back into harmony. Through hands-on cooking, tastings and herbal demonstrations, discover practical ways to weave Ayurvedic wisdom into everyday meals. No prior experience is required, and class participation is encouraged! Come cook with us and get yourself some new recipes for the seasons.

You can take all three in the series or pick and choose from the list. Each class will have its own set of recipes specific to the season.

Spring - Cleansing Renewal

As winter melts away, spring offers the perfect opportunity to reset. This class focuses on clearing away heaviness and supporting the body’s natural urge to cleanse. Learn how to cook vibrant, digestion-friendly dishes that incorporate spring greens and warming spices to stoke agni (digestive fire) after the dormant months. Explore seasonal herbs and simple daily rituals that help clear stagnation, balance kapha dosha and boost energy for the months ahead. Expect fresh flavors, practical tips for spring kitchen routines, and a deeper understanding of how to work with nature’s momentum to feel renewed and clear. Recipes will be provided.

Summer - Cooling & Refreshing

Summer’s intensity brings heat, long days and a natural desire for lightness. This class focuses on cooling, hydrating and calming our internal heat that gets turned up in the heat of summer. This season centers soothing flavors and foods to bring balance to the season’s fiery energy. Prepare refreshing recipes using ingredients like cucumbers, coconut, juicy seasonal fruits, and gentle spices that support digestion. Herbal preparations will focus on cooling allies like rose, coriander, and mint, with simple ways to incorporate them into drinks and meals. Leave with recipes and practices that help you stay cool and clear-headed all summer long.

Fall - Grounding & Nourishing

As the air turns crisp and the wind picks up, fall invites us to slow down and anchor. This class centers on grounding foods, warm spices and soothing herbs to balance vata dosha and ease the seasonal transition.
