Science Studio for Homeschoolers: Cyanotypes
Deep, rich blues and crisp, bright whites, learn to make cyanotypes! Cyanotypes are photographic prints made without the use of a camera. Discover how the earliest photographs of plants were produced using an innovative chemical process and the power of the sun. Connect with this antique technique and create your own stunning cyanotype prints.
Science Studio offers families a guided classroom experience to investigate the connections between scientific concepts, the arts and the natural world. Each studio session utilizes a variety of natural materials and art mediums to explore scientific concepts related to the natural world. After exploring the session's scientific content, students will have the opportunity to get creative with the provided art materials.
Date and Times: March 23, 10 - 11:30 a.m. or 1 - 2:30 p.m.
Fee: $16 non member child, $14 member child. One adult per child is free of charge.
Location: York Street; This program takes place indoors and runs between 60 - 90 minutes depending on how long your group spends creating their art work.
Audience: Families with Children ages 7 - 12
Cancellations: Cancellations more than one week prior to a class are subject to a 15% cancellation fee. Cancellations with less than one week's notice are non-refundable.
