Homeschool Day: Be a Botanist
Spend a day in the boots of a botanist and investigate plants like a scientist. Explore the tools botanists use in the field, examine herbarium specimens, and learn how biodiversity research at Denver Botanic Gardens is applied to real-world conservation efforts.
Homeschool Days offer families the opportunity to explore plant-based themes through a variety of hands-on explorations and take-home projects that children and their grown ups complete together. These self-guided and self-paced programs are set up with several activity stations throughout the Gardens for families to explore the day's topic.
Date and Time: February 23, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Check in for the program is between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Activity station are open for exploration between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Fee: $16 non member child; $14 member child; One adult per child is free of charge. Additional adults and non-participating siblings ages 3 and up are $7 each. Non-participating siblings do not participate in take home activities.
Location: Depending on the weather and time of year, Homeschool Day activity stations can be located both indoors and outdoors. Come prepared to spend time indoors and outdoors.
Audience: Families with children ages 6 - 10 years
Cancellations: Cancellations more than one week prior to a class are subject to a 15% cancellation fee. Cancellations with less than one week's notice are non-refundable.
