One of Día de los Muertos’ most recognizable figures, La Catrina was born out of Mexican social satire depicting the upper classes and is still depicted in art today in celebration of the holiday. Artist Ricardo Soltero’s 8-foot tall figures represent eight figures from Mexican culture.

La Calavera Catrina was exhibited at Denver Botanic Gardens in the fall of 2017. Interested in hosting an exhibition like this one at your venue? To inquire about traveling exhibitions for your venue, please contact us at exhibits@botanicgardens.org.
