Curious Companions: Fungi, Parasites and Carnivores

Explore a hidden world of unique and intriguing interdependence.

Sept. 26, 2026 – Jan. 31, 2027

Curious Companions: Fungi, Parasites and Carnivores unearths the hidden drama in some of nature’s most curious relationships. Detailed botanical illustrations created by artists across the globe illuminate complex connections found in the world of plants, fungi and other microorganisms. From ghostly translucent, fungi-fueled flowers to symbiotic, lettuce-like lichens, discover a remarkable range of peculiar interspecies connections.

This exhibition was curated by the American Society of Botanical Artists in partnership with the New York Botanical Garden, for the Fifth ASBA/NYBG Triennial.
