The best spring gardens start during the fall! At this year’s Fall Plant & Bulb Sale enjoy a wide variety of standard and specialty bulbs, seeds and plants grown right here at the Gardens. This sale will be located under the tent at the UMB Bank Amphitheater.

  • Members receive 10 percent off all purchases.
  • Members-only shopping is available from 8-9 a.m. on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. Reservations are required.

The Preview Party is back! Receive exclusive access to the event and expert advice from our horticulturists before the sale opens to the public. Guests enjoy fabulous treats, wine and beer.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer opportunities include greeting and welcoming visitors, line-directing and wayfinding, cashiering and more. Volunteers receive a 10 percent discount on all Fall Plant & Bulb Sale purchases.
All volunteer positions have been filled for the Fall Plant & Bulb Sale.



Free Admission, Reservations Required

How do I know what plants will be at the sale?

Browse the Shopping Guide for a list of what will be offered at the sale. Plant availability is subject to change, and many species sell out quickly.  We cannot guarantee availability of any specific varieties. 

Where can I get care information about the plants I purchased?

Basic information about each plant is listed on a placard at the sale. We invite guests to take photos of these placards as they shop. For additional planting and care tips, we recommend reaching out to the CSU Extension Master Gardeners in your county. You can also email Colorado Master Gardeners at with specific plant inquiries. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response. 

Do I have to carry my plants all the way to my car?

No! A complimentary plant valet will be available for guests. This service allows you to drop off your plants and retrieve your vehicle without having to carry your purchases all the way to the parking garage.

Is there parking?

Free parking is available in our garage, accessible from either York Street or Josephine Street. If you park on a side street, please be respectful of our neighbors and read all parking signs. Denver Botanic Gardens is not responsible for parking tickets. Consider using these alternate modes of transportation:   

  • RTD: Use routes #24 (York and Josephine Streets) or #10 (12th Avenue) to access the Gardens. 

  • Bicycle Colorado and Bike Streets: The Gardens joins Bicycle Colorado and Bike Streets in encouraging cycling as a form of transportation. Bike racks are available at the York Street main entrance. 

Will shopping carts be available at the sale?

A limited number of carts will be available. However, we encourage guests to bring their own wagons, wheelbarrows or carts.

Will the Shop at the Gardens be open?

The Shop at the Gardens will be open 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. It will be closed during the Preview Party. Please do not take shopping carts into the Shop. 

Will Offshoots Café and the Hive Garden Bistro be open?

Offshoots will be open 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., last food order at 4:30 p.m. The Hive will be open 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., last food order at 4:30 p.m. Online ordering will be available for both restaurants.

What forms of payment will be accepted at the sale?

Credit/debit cards and checks are the only forms of payment that will be accepted at the sale. Cash purchases cannot be accommodated.

What is your refund policy?

All sales are final. Refunds will not be issued for plants purchased at Fall Plant & Bulb Sale if they wither after the event.

Is Fall Plant & Bulb Sale wheelchair accessible and are wheelchairs or strollers available onsite?

Yes, the sale is wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs and strollers can be checked out at the Information Desk in Boettcher Memorial Center. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations are accepted. Learn more about accessibility at the Gardens.
