Submit Your Artwork to the Prairie Art Celebration
Calling all Colorado artists! From sculpture and student murals to photography and chalk art, the Prairie Art Celebration showcases artistic renderings of the shortgrass prairie and its inhabitants. Now is your chance to be part of this annual event.
All Colorado artists are welcome to submit their work for consideration. Pieces can include landscapes, portraits, abstracts or other subject matter that represents the spirit and essence of Colorado’s eastern prairie now and in days gone by. Selected work will be featured in the Plains Conservation Center indoor spaces from June 27 – July 2, with a free reception kicking off the celebration on Friday, June 27 from 4-7 p.m. The reception will feature food for purchase and live music, as well as free s’mores, crafts, face painting and more activities for the whole family. Whether or not you submit artwork to the show, all are welcome at the reception!
Visit the Plains Conservation Center for inspiration. Bring your camera, pencils or paints and explore our nature trails, Cheyenne tipi camp and the sod homestead village. Right now, we’re enjoying spring wildflowers and bald eagle sightings while patiently awaiting the first baby pronghorn.
