Join Us for Night at the Museums Nov. 8

November 3, 2025 Exhibits Department

A longstanding tradition during Denver Arts Week is Night at the Museums. For one night only, Saturday, November 8, participating museums throughout the city offer free admission and keep their doors open late. While we can’t promise a living, breathing Teddy Roosevelt or a T-Rex skeleton turned canine-ish companion, there’s plenty to see after dark at the Gardens’ Freyer – Newman Center.

Kick off your late-night adventure by exploring exhibitions. In Agave: Symbol and Spirit, learn how these spiky succulents rose to a place of prominence in Mexican culture after centuries of cultivation. You’re probably familiar with agave’s role in tequila, but did you know agave can be used for everything from food, to textiles, to fences?

From there, wander over to Nourished: Works by Jazz Holmes. Local artist Jazz Holmes celebrates southern American foods and the plant ingredients that go into them in vibrant paintings of Creole dishes. Share your own beloved food memories or favorite family recipes at an interactive station—you might even be inspired to try a recipe left behind by someone else!

Finally, in Xochimilco: Works by Eduardo Robledo Romero, discover dream-like prints featuring plants, animals, and fantastical figures. Inspired by his upbringing in Mexico City’s unique Xochimilco neighborhood and stories passed down by his late grandfather, Robledo’s prints highlight the spiritual power of nature.

As if three great exhibitions aren’t enough, expect to encounter tons of hands-on art and science activities throughout the evening. Best of all, your explorations don’t have to end here. A free shuttle is available to take you to the many other participating museums in town.
