FAQ

How do I know where each artist is performing?

We consider many factors when placing musicians, including what type of instruments they are playing, the style of music and more. While we do assign locations in advance, last minute adjustments are often made as the musicians are setting up for the day. Maps at the entry will show the final location of each performer.

What time will the music be playing?

Music will be playing from 4:30-8:30 p.m., however, performers will be taking staggered breaks, which means that all locations will not be active at once. We encourage visitors to wander between performance locations to enjoy the variety of musicians.

Is there seating?

There is scarce seating available throughout the Gardens. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs or picnic blankets.

Is there parking?

Free parking is available in our parking structure, accessible from either York Street or Josephine Street. However, parking in the structure is limited and fills quickly. Street parking is available, but please be respectful of our neighbors and observe all parking restrictions. Denver Botanic Gardens is not responsible for parking tickets.

Consider these alternate modes of transportation to avoid parking issues:

  • RTD: Use routes #24 (York and Josephine Streets) and/or #10 (12th Avenue) to access the Gardens.
  • Bicycle Colorado and Bike Streets: The Gardens joins Bicycle Colorado and Bike Streets in encouraging cycling as a form of transportation. Bike racks are available at the York Street main entrance.

Can I bring my own food and beverage?

Yes, we encourage it! Evenings al Fresco is a great opportunity for a leisurely picnic at the Gardens. Offshoots Café and the Hive Garden Bistro will both be open.

Alcohol in the original container is allowed at Evenings al Fresco, however it is not available for purchase anywhere on property.  Please drink responsibly.

Will Evenings al Fresco get cancelled due to inclement weather?

No, Evenings al Fresco will not be cancelled due to inclement weather unless the Gardens are closing entirely.

Are the Gardens open for daytime visitors?

Yes, on Evenings al Fresco days you may enter the Gardens until 2 p.m.; the Gardens is open until 3 p.m. No patrons, even those with tickets for that evening, will be permitted to stay after 3 p.m. You will be readmitted at the specific time and date stated on your ticket.

Does my ticket include daytime admission to the Gardens?

Daytime admission isn’t included with your ticket. However, you are encouraged to explore the Gardens during the event.

Is Evenings al Fresco ADA accessible and are wheelchairs or strollers available onsite?

Yes, the event is wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs and strollers can be checked out at the Information Desk in Boettcher Memorial Center. They are available on a first-come first-served basis. No reservations are accepted. Learn more about accessibility at the Gardens.
