Exploring Carbon Dust - ONLINE

The carbon dust technique was developed by medical illustrators in the early 20th century and is characterized by subtle and precise gradations of grey values. Using a combination of carbon pencil lines and carbon dust applied with brushes, this unique medium produces rich tonal renderings with the value range of charcoal and the precision of watercolor. Learn methodical layering skills to create luminous grey scale tones and values.
