Treat Yourself Tuesdays - Backcountry Cooking - At Cherokee Ranch and Castle

 

Have you wondered how to make a fantastic meal outside the walls of your kitchen?  Now s your chance to learn the outdoor cooking basics, including the equipment, techniques and ingredients needed to make incredible outdoor meals. Pick up a few great recipes to try on your next outing! Open to all skill levels.

 

Price: $45, $40 member

Instructor: Taryn Longberry is an outdoor adventure enthusiast and brings a passion for providing youth the opportunity to connect with the natural world around them. Taryn has over 7 years of experience working with a variety of environmental education and outdoor youth organizations nationwide. She currently works for an environmental education non-profit called Cottonwood Institute and is the Program Manager. She earned her M.S. in Natural Resources with a certification in Environmental Education from the University of Idaho in 2012. She received her B.S. in Environmental Geography from Ohio University in 2009. When she isnt busy working, she likes to rollerblade with her dog, bike, hike, ski, and do twirls in the air in aerial silks class.

Special Instructions:

Please wear appropriate clothes for the weather and closed-toe shoes for a short and easy hike. Please also bring your lunch, water, and sunscreen.
