August 13: Taking the Tropics Home

Join Conservatory Horticulturist Nicholas Giaquinto for a session focusing on tropical houseplants. Learn about basic care for houseplants, how to repot your overgrown plants, and propagation methods to use at home to expand your collection.

August 27: Virtual Meditative Plant Walk at the Gardens

Learn to walk mindfully among plants. Pause to engage with plants and connect with different physical sensations, isolating the senses to feel the temperature of the air and the warmth of the sun, tune into sounds and scents, and take in the abundance of life all around that we are sometimes too busy to notice. This is also an opportunity to see what is blooming in August at our Chatfield Botanic Gardens location.

Price: Complimentary, advanced registration required.

Instructors: Catharine McCord

Catharine McCord is a program coordinator at the Gardens for adult education programs and the Therapeutic Horticulture Program. She is also the recipient of the 2020 American Horticultural Societys Great American Gardeners Award for Horticultural Therapy.
