Mario is a horticulture specialist and assistant curator at Denver Botanic Gardens. He has been with the Gardens since 2014 and has taken on a variety of projects during his tenure. He specializes in shade gardens, which are composed of large trees that form a canopy, filtering sunlight and protecting the woodland understory perennials and shrubs below.
