Introduction to Food Systems and Sustainable Agriculture Hybrid ONLINE Course
This course introduces the dual concepts of the global food system and some of the emerging trends in sustainable agriculture. Participants examine the social, economic, environmental and political dimensions of agriculture at multiple scales. Learn how our food system, from growing and processing to transportaion and disposal, is linked to global threats such as climate change, childhood obesity and malnutrition. This is a hybrid course, offered online with an optional visit to the Denver Botanic Gardens. If opting out of the onsite portion, an alternate assignment will be required to receive credit. Appropriate for K - 12 teachers.
ONLINE dates: Monday, July 13th 1 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. AND Monday, July 20th 1 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Optional onsite date: Wednesday, July 22nd (time TBD)
Price: $55 member, $65 nonmember
0.5 semester credit hours with $40 tuition fee from Colorado School of Mines
