Family Make and Take: Dia de los Muertos Miniature Ofrendas
Explore the cultural traditions of Día de los Muertos as you create a miniature ofrenda in remembrance of a loved one. Ofrendas are an important element of the Día de los Muertos celebration and are often constructed and displayed in homes to remember and honor loved ones who have passed. Families are encouraged to bring a photo copy of loved ones to include in their ofrenda. Materials provided are appropriate for children ages 5 and up. Preregistration is required.
Family Make and Take programs offer a space for children and their grownups to connect with natural materials and create together. These self-guided and self-paced programs are designed to provide a creative environment that sparks imagination. The Gardens provides the space and supplies. You and your family provide the ideas and creativity!
