Leo Bruederle, Ph.D.

Dr. Bruederle is an associate professor at the University of Colorado Denver where his work focuses on evolutionary mechanisms that facilitate speciation in Carex as well as conservation genetics of Colorado’s rare plants.

Donald Hazlett, Ph.D.

Dr. Hazlett is an ethnobotanist with expertise in the western United States and in Latin America. He established and contributed to the ethnobotanical collection at the Gardens.

Mari Majack, M.S.

Ms. Majack’s research focuses on documenting the distribution and diversity of freshwater plants in Colorado.


Jeff Ravage

Mr. Ravage is the North Fork Watershed Coordinator for the Coalition for the Upper South Platte and oversees forest ecological restoration projects. He is currently investigating the use of native mushrooms for restoration and remediation.

Anna Sher, Ph.D.

Dr. Anna Sher is a plant ecologist at the University of Denver with a particular interest in conservation issues and expertise in ecology and restoration of Tamarix (tamarisk, saltcedar) invasions. 

Loraine Yeatts

Ms. Yeatts is an active field botanist and taxonomist who has conducted numerous botanical surveys, which have contributed significantly to building the Gardens collection with almost 6,000 high quality specimens.
