Make Mixology Magic with Mythology Distillery

July 12, 2021 Erin Bird , Communications Manager

A longtime friendship fostered a unique collaboration between Denver Botanic Gardens and Mythology Distillery. Blake Burger, horticulturist at the Gardens, and Scott Yeates, founder of Mythology Distillery, have been friends since college. While chatting several years ago about botanical-based cocktail bitters, they had the idea of creating a gin with plants grown at the Gardens. The idea blossomed into The Foragers gin that just had its second release after selling out last year. Yeates says “Partnering with the Gardens provides a unique opportunity to showcase a different way for people to enjoy this important organization.”

This specialty spirit is made with the common gin ingredients of Italian juniper, coriander seed and orris root along with chamomile, elderflower and lemon verbena harvested at the Gardens. Some proceeds from bottle sales support the Gardens.

You can enjoy an at-home happy hour with Mythology Distillery. The video class will show you how to make three creative cocktails using The Foragers gin. Supplies are included and the video class can be viewed between July 23 – August 5, allowing you to mix and sip at your convenience.
