Each spring, we host an exhibition of bonsai featuring a special artist and their works. This year, our fifth year of special exhibition, we are showcasing the works of Mark Mills.

Mark, introduced to Bonsai at a Cleveland garden show, studied the art of bonsai under the tutelage of the noted bonsai master Keith Scott for 16 years. When Mark moved to Colorado in 1987, he was introduced to the native Rock Mountain trees that can be used as bonsai.

These trees, along with traditional Japanese species and azaleas comprise a large part of his collection. At this special show, you will see some of his special specimens including a profusely blooming white Rhododendron species and a pink blooming Bougainvillea glabra. This special exhibition will be on display through Sunday, June 18 in the Bill Hosokawa Bonsai Pavilion.
