5 Wow-worthy Father’s Day Ideas (and a bonus idea)
Father’s Day comes every year and that means getting creative with gifts for the dad (whether he be your spouse, father, brother, grandfather or friend) can get tricky. If you feel stumped and need some inspiration, look no further! Below is a range of ideas for the special man in your life.
Five Ideas for Father's Day Gifts
Picnic and a tour. Pack a picnic and pick the perfect grassy area to spread out a blanket and enjoy the scenery. Or order from the Hive Garden Bistro or Offshoots Café and snag a waterfront spot by Monet Pool. Afterward, use June’s self-guided walking tour to see highlights of the Gardens at your own pace or pop into the Freyer – Newman Center to see what’s on view in our new galleries.
Sign Dad (and maybe the whole family) up for a class. Does he love to cook? Garden? Paint? Is he into birds, beetles or botanicals? Maybe he’s a yogi, a crafter or a mocktail mixer. The Gardens offers classes of all kinds for all types, both onsite and online.
Go behind the scenes. If Dad loves insider knowledge—the story behind an artist’s process or insight into the Japanese Garden—he’ll love taking one of our tours at York Street or Chatfield Farms. Make your own series: Sign up for one each month for your own unofficial “tour of the month club!”
Tickets to Evenings al Fresco. This fun summer series features local musicians throughout the Gardens on select Mondays and Wednesdays. Bring light bites and some wine (or pick up food from our cafes) and enjoy a super chill evening surrounded by beautiful flowers and great music.
Make it a membership. Dad is sure to want to return again and again to the Gardens! Gift him a membership to the Gardens so he can take advantage of free year-round admission, discounts at the gift shop and cafes as well as on classes.
If you'd like something a little more tangible, then we have a huge variety of wrappable items at the Shop at the Gardens. Shop in person or online. Below are our picks. (Insider tip: Inventory is limited, so shop early for the best selection!)
Metal Birds are perfect for nearly any backyard or porch. Easily installed with a tap of a hammer into a tree or fence post. Enjoy the silhouette of these beautiful metal birds for years to come.
Kuvu Pro Pack is something everyone needs. The Kuvu is a must-have home storage and organization product designed to hang, wrap or hold almost anything you can think of. Includes 10 Kuvus total with two sizes.
