Container-in-a-Bag: Labels for the Gardens’ Spring Plant Sale

The annual Spring Plant Sale at Denver Botanic Gardens is a much-anticipated event for Denver-area gardeners. A popular new tradition is the Container-in-a-Bag plant groupings based on the color palettes of famous artworks. This year, the labels/inserts for these artistic collections could feature your work! Compose and draw small compositions to show gardeners what to expect. You’ll learn how to work to specs, including following templates, adhering to style and color requirements, and meeting deadlines. See how to simplify and stylize plant selections for clarity and unity using pen and ink with pops of color. If you’ve considered dipping your toe into the commercial side of botanical illustration, here’s your opportunity! Fee: $245 member, $295 non-member. Prerequisites: Botanical Illustration in Pencil II, Botanical Illustration in Pen and Ink I, Botanical Illustration in Colored Pencil I.
