Beautiful artwork is created with value: the degree of light and dark in a specific subject. Working in “plastic” pencil, you'll develop pigment-free values and master seamless gradations from the lightest lights to the darkest darks without the usual graphite sheen. Drawing with pencils formulated for use on translucent drafting film you achieve high degrees of shading and contrast in your illustration. Demonstrations and guided exercises will train you to draw incredible detail. Your advanced skills will prepare you to select a live specimen and work through the process to a complete botanical plate. Fee: $210 member, $265 non-member. Prerequisites: Pencil I, Pencil II, (Perspective and Light on Form strongly recommended).
Class will appear sold out until Registration opens December 11, 2012, 9am.
*Thur., March 28, April 4, 11, 18, 25, 9 a.m. - noon
