This introductory watercolor class will combine drawing skills and color mixing to discover the delight of putting brush to paper. Instruction, demonstration and practical exercises will guide students through a variety of watercolor techniques including flat and graded washes, highlights and drybrush detail. Students will build washes for depth of tone and shading, and create soft and hard edges. With these foundational skills, students will be ready to create a finished plate in Watercolor II. Prerequisites: Pencil I, Color Mixing.
ONLINE WITH ON-SITE COMPONENT
Fee: $350 member, $400 non-member.

All assignments are to be completed no later than Mar. 21, 2014
