Beauty is in the details. Fuzzy, thorny, rough, smooth: it’s all form on a small scale. Learn to see textures in a new way that allows you to re-create realistically using a variety of colored pencil techniques specific to Mylar film. We’ll explore pencil application and layering techniques using the back of the surface to enhance the front and erasing colored pencil from Mylar. Through guided exercise and practice, you will assemble a collection of texture technique studies that can be referenced for all future work. Fee: $230 member, $285 non-member. Prerequisites: Botanical Illustration in Pencil I, Color Layering for Colored Pencil, Light on Form, Botanical Illustration in Colored Pencil I, Botanical Illustration in Colored Pencil II or Certificate in Botanical Art and Illustration.

• Fri -– Sun, Oct. 31 – Nov. 2, 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
