Artist Trading Cards (ATC) 2. Graphite and Water-Soluble Pencil
Registration opens June 10, 2014 at 9am. Classes will appear sold out until then.
Artist trading cards are small, 2.5” x 3.5” originals or small editions that are designed to be traded with other artists. Originally this was a way to collect artwork without cost. The project was initiated in 1997 by Zurich artist Vanci Stirnemann. These tiny treasures are now often sold as art card editions and originals (ACEOs). Since “the trade is the thing” with ATC, this aspect of the original project aims to encourage not only the trade of art (the noncommercial aspect) but also to build community through the trading network. Fee: $120/session member, $150/session non-member (includes four blank cards).
2. Graphite and Water-Soluble Pencil
Create miniature works of art with graphite and add color as an accent to highlight areas of specific interest, or use the color as a compositional element.
Pre-requisites: Experience in drawing and any color media recommended.
