DENVER BOTANIC GARDENS' 2012 FÊTE DES FLEURS

August 09, 2012

Friday, Aug. 24

DENVER— Denver Botanic Gardens’ 2012 Fête des Fleurs committee co-chairs Amy Corrigan and Allison Perkins will host the Gardens’ Fête des Fleurs gala on Friday, Aug. 24. Gates open at 6 p.m. The 2012 Fête theme, Hana Matsuri - or Festival of Flowers, complements the season-long celebration of Japanese art and culture at the Gardens. The Gardens’ gates will be open exclusively for our Fête des Fleurs guests that evening.

This elegant, black tie dinner-dance, known as Denver’s premier summer social event, gives the Gardens an opportunity to invite its closest friends to enjoy an intimate evening in the splendor of one of the finest public gardens in the country. This year’s Fête is a sold out event and will host more than 500 distinguished invitees, including Denver mayor Michael Hancock and his wife. Guests of this elegant event can take leisurely strolls through our beautiful oasis while enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres before dining al fresco under a tent, then dance the night away to the live music of the band “Soul X”.

This gala contributes more than $200,000 to the Gardens’ Annual Fund each year. The Gardens is a nonprofit organization that relies on gifts and fundraising proceeds to help support its education, research, conservation and community outreach programs.

The 2012 Fête des Fleurs committee consists of a specially selected group of dedicated volunteers from the Denver community, including: Amy Corrigan, Allison Perkins, Katie Agron, Liz Arnold, Barbara Baldwin, Christina Brickley, Kristin Bronson, Cristin Calamari, Meredith Calkins, Jen Connelly, Meredith Coors, Kelly Eisinger, Mary Elliman, Judy Grant, Christine Grawemeyer, Heidi Hammell, Betty Lynn Jackson, Leslie Johnson, Brooke Maloy, Jennifer Milo, Shannon Rapp, Mary Schaefer, Nancy Schotters, Amy Slothower, Merrill Smith, Nancy Stamper, Jenna Stapleton, Kelly Stava, Tammy Westerberg, Rosie Wiedenmayer and Karen Wolfe.
