sensory garden

Botanical Interest:

This relaxing therapeutic garden appeals to all five senses. You will find colorful displays of flowers throughout the season, along with plants that please your nose, rustle in the breeze, or tickle your skin with interesting textures. Fruits and vegetables will bring you back to memories of biting into the first tomato of the season, or gardening with your grandma or grandpa.

Especially for Gardeners:

Look for examples of how to garden with minimal bending, stooping or kneeling; wide pathways for wheelchair accessibility; raised beds and container gardens.

Admission and Tours:

Sensory Garden tours are included with admission to the Gardens for groups with special needs, or in therapy or rehabilitation programs, and are available from June through Sept. on Wednesdays and Fridays. The Summer Sensory Program is a highly interactive on-site garden experience designed for adults with special needs. The Summer Sensory Program is available June through Sept. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and is $75 for for-profits or $50 for nonprofits.
