As visitors exit the Boettcher Memorial Tropical Conservatory through the west end, they will be greeted by the sound of rushing water and the sight of blooming orchids and bromeliads. Welcome to Marnie’s Pavilion. This two-story display was designed with recesses in its concrete walls to provide flexibility for plant displays. Blooming orchids and bromeliads can easily be rotated from collections greenhouses and put on temporary display for visitors to enjoy.
Orchids are thought to be the largest family of flowering plants. It is estimated that well over 30,000 species exist around the globe and they can be found on every continent except Antarctica.
