Planting the Spring Kitchen Garden

Class - Lifelong Learning| Adults
Wednesday, February 20, 2013 - 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Did you know that you can be harvesting delectable spinach and lettuces and herbs by April?

No need to wait to plant some exceptionally nutritious vegetables and herbs until mid May. If you already have your plot or raised bed or even containers ready, why let them sit fallow when you can be enjoying a huge variety of tasty vegetables?

This class will get your creative juices flowing. We will focus on weather challenges and how to overcome them with some amazing season extender techniques, good organic soil prep, planting, good cultural maintenance, organic and food safe pest control and harvesting a bountiful spring crop and how to be ready then to get your summer garden in. We will do a hands-on planning/planting exercise and learn all the vegetables you can plant now in late winter for spring harvest.

$36 member, $41 non-member.
