volunteer at Chatfield
Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield is a working farm located along the banks of Deer Creek in southern Jefferson County. Facilities include nature trails, a wildlife observation area, display gardens, educational exhibits, a historical farm, a 19th century one-room schoolhouse, working beehives and picnic areas.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Grower Assistant
CSA volunteers assist in planting, maintaining, harvesting, washing and distributing the vegetables and herbs grown in the gardens at Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield.Qualifications:Passion for gardening and an interest in local food production and farming; ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions; physical ability to tolerate standing, bending, kneeling and light lifting.Schedule:One day a week, May through the end of October
Garden Docent - Guide and Hildebrand Ranch House
Gardens Docents at the Chatfield location provide an educational and interpretative experience for visitors throughout the many areas of the Gardens’ site by sharing the history of the Gardens, horticultural and wildlife-related information.Qualifications:Excellent interpersonal and communications skills; ability to comfortably engage visitors in their surroundings; stamina to spend up to two hours standing and walking in the gardens.Schedule:Upon completion of training, Garden Docents are required to commit to a minimum of two programs/shifts per month.
Information Specialist - Visitor Center
Provide a warm welcome, courteous service and current information to all visitors at Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield.Qualifications:Superior customer service and problem solving skills; excellent communication skills; enthusiasm for Denver Botanic Gardens.Schedule:Upon completion of training, Information Specialists are required to commit to a minimum of two shifts per month.
