Children’s Garden Activity Leader
Activity Leaders facilitate preplanned activities and projects within the Children’s Garden that introduce the wonders of nature to visitors and extend the learning and discovery opportunities for families as they explore the Gardens.
Children’s Garden Home Harvest Garden Facilitator
Home Harvest Garden Facilitators work in the Children’s Garden’s Home Harvest Garden helping to maintain the plantings and engaging visitors in planting, picking and caring for the plants in the Home Harvest Garden.
Qualifications, Schedule and Training for all Children’s Garden positions:
Qualifications: Enjoys working and playing with children and families. Energetic, enthusiastic, patient and flexible. Interested in plants, gardening and the natural world. Must pass a background check (ages 18 and over only).
Schedule: Volunteers are asked to volunteer on a regular basis committing to one 2-1/2 hour shift per week on a regularly scheduled day during the Gardens season, April-November.
Training: Volunteers will be required to attend a training on play, hands-on learning, inquiry based science, developmentally appropriate activities, safety and activities offered in the Children’s Garden. Trainings will be offered throughout the year.
