Horticulture and Research Volunteer
Horticulture Maintenance Volunteers:
Help keep the Gardens beautiful! Our York Street horticulture team is looking for volunteers to assist with garden maintenance; performing tasks such as weeding, mulching, planting and watering. Volunteering with our horticulturalists is a great way to meet new people and improve your knowledge of plants, while providing an invaluable service to the community.
Volunteers must have a good range of physical mobility--being comfortable with both standing and bending over for extended periods of time. Volunteers must also be comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions (many gardens are in full sun). Volunteers must be flexible and willing to help his or her assigned horticulturalists with changing duties and priorities.
Horticulture maintenance volunteers must be able to make a weekly commitment for the duration of the growing season (April through October, depending on weather) and attend a mandatory training on March 19.
How to register:
1. Fill out a volunteer form here.
2. Once your application is received, you will be contacted to schedule an initial interview with a placement coordinator.
Please contact Nikki DeMare at 720-865-3533 with questions.
We currently have a waiting list to volunteer with our Research department. To be placed on the waiting list, please email the Volunteer Services Department at firstname.lastname@example.org.
