An endowment guarantees that your gift lives in perpetuity. Your gift is permanently invested and only a portion of the earnings is spent. A gift to Denver Botanic Gardens’ endowment not only helps today, but also builds future stability by enabling us to diversify our revenue.
Endowments at the Gardens support a variety of programs and services including research, horticultural programs, and education as well as funding for our summer internships.
Endowments may also be used to support specific gardens and displays. For example, the Ida Quentin Mitchell Lobby Court Fund was established in 1977 with a donation from the Mitchell Family. To this day the income donated by the Mitchells and their friends supports the maintenance of the lobby court displays which change several times a year. Thanks to this endowment, we will be able to offer a changing array of outstanding Lobby Court displays for years to come.
