Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a traditional celebration that originated more than 3,000 years ago, and is observed on All Saints Day (Nov. 1) and All Souls Day (Nov. 2). Mexican families remember, honor and celebrate those who have died with an altar and offerings such as pan de muertos, skulls, candles, incense, yellow marigolds and a photo of the dearly departed.
