From Penstemons to Pines: Illustrating Rocky Mountain Natives
February 29, 2012Organized through Denver Botanic Gardens’ botanical Art & Illustration Program, From Penstemons to Pines offers exquisite original illustrations with an important ecological message. Biodiversity of the Rocky Mountain region is remarkable, ranging from alpine tundra to open grassland. Thirty-two framed works on paper in graphite; pen and ink; colored pencil and watercolor prompt viewers to consider not only the beauty of the natural world but the pressures that affect our landscapes.
